Cool
Any chance for a Linux release soon? If the Mac version is out, then the Linux one shouldn’t be far away, I hope.

It’s the next thing on our list
That’s exactly what I wanted to hear, much appreciated.
Will those who buy on Steam get the Linux version for free when it’s released?
I want to get Dear Esther now, but I want to play it on Linux later without having to pay extra. I’m wondering where I should buy it. I like possesing my own copy, which is why I don’t want to buy on Steam, but Steam is $5 less than buying direct here on the site. This is all very confounding.
If you buy it on steam you’ll also get the Linux version same as the Mac, but that all depends on if and when Valve release Steam for Linux. Your safest bet would be to buy it through our site via the humble store as it’s the same deal, minus steam.
Awesome! I’m also waiting for the Linux version.
This is amazing news, now I can finally play it! Any chance Dear Esther will hit the Mac App Store?
We’re working on that now
That’s even more amazing news. Thank you so much for the support!
Hi Robert,
My family is having an bad economic situation. So I cannot buy your game.
I would be grateful if you could give me a Steam copy of Dear Esther.
Best Wishes
hey yall!
just downloaded (what i think is) the steam-free mac version. but it doesn’t work. it keeps bouncing in my dock for quite some time and then stops, only to disappear when you click it again.
i’d really love to play the game now. any ideas? is this a known bug? do i need steam? (i really don’t want steam if i don’t need it)
Hello!
Could you explain me, please, is it possible to add russian translation into the mac version. I tried to add it by instruction for windows (i found the same folders in Application support/Steam etc., but it didn’t work. My OS X 10.7.4 Lion. Thanks in advance.)))) Great game!)))
Hi,
I’m going to look into this. Unfortunately the Steam Mac OSX DE is a lot more fiddly to get translations working, due to the Application support/Steam folder being inaccessible in the latest versions of the OS. I’m trying to come up with a solution at the moment and once I have one I’ll be sending it out to our translators and updating the installation instructions. I’ll make a news post about it when it’s ready.
Thanks,
-Rob
Thank you, Robert, for your quick reply! Will be waiting for update))
